WASHINGTON, (SANA): Pakistani Ambassador in United States, Hussein Haqqani, has said on Saturday that the next round of tripartite talks between Pakistan, Afghanistan and United States will be held in Islamabad on 3rd of May.
In an interview with a US TV channel, Hussein Haqqani said that the talks which would be held during the first week of May will focus on strengthening joint efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
He denied the US media’s reports that have claimed that Pakistan had asked Kabul to end its alliance with Washington saying that Pakistan is a key partner in the war on terrorism and supported American efforts in this context.
Hussein Haqqani said that during talks between Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, Salman Bashir and US special Envoy for the region, Ambassador Mark Grossman, last week it was decided that a tripartite mechanism would be evolved to resolve the Afghan issue.
